Oliver Brown: Classic Tailoring in Chelsea

I've mentioned Oliver Brown several times over the eight years I've written this blog, mainly in connection with formal wear and their links to Ascot Races. Towards the end of last year I visited their Piccadilly pop-up store to try on some of their wares which range from city suits, through tweedy country clothing to morning and evening wear.

Last year Riki Brockman joined their bespoke team as Head Cutter. Riki served as apprentice to the Head Cutter at Gieves & Hawkes and I was present when he won the prestigious Golden Shears Award in 2017 (read my report here). More recently Riki honed his skills at City tailors Couch & Hoskin before moving to Oliver Brown as the natural progression for his career.

Oliver Brown is based on Chelsea’s Lower Sloane Street. In summer of 2017 the shop doubled in size, introducing a dedicated bespoke and formalwear department. All patterns are drafted by hand and constructed by using age-old tailoring techniques, resulting in an impeccable fit, precision and a clean-cut finish. Made-to-measure services are also offered.

There is a full hire service for morning and evening wear collections and Oliver Brown is renowned as a retailers of top hats, with a vast collection of rare antique silk toppers.

This is an unsponsored post. I was gifted the velvet smoking jacket.
