New & Lingwood's new season products are arriving in their stores. As ever, they are an alluring mix of the adventurous and the classically safe, enabling the gentleman of style to dress with dash at the weekends and less contentiously for more conservative venues and places of work.

It's good to have such breadth of style choices. It enables the more cautious of us (and I'm one of them) to progress with comfort from grey-suited businessman to silk-clad lounge lizard without having to range the length of the high street to find what we want. It also enables us to try clothes that we feel might be just outside our comfort zone. I've done this several times, for example with what New & Lingwood call their 'confident check' jackets, only to find that, once tried on, they look superb and not outrageously loud in any way.

New & Lingwood AW19 is a well balanced mix of corduroy, tweeds, flannel and moleskin in checks and earthy colours - from mustard, through earthy greens and soft blues to muted reds; all fusing to give an overall affect not unlike a mix of fallen autumn leaves.

Highlights for me are the double-breasted great coat in army green, a rich blue chunky semi-structured corduroy jacket and the gun-club check jacket I wear in the images here - all soft and supremely comfortable. A wide range of suiting complements the offering for those dressing more formally on occasion.
I'll be wearing a selection on Instagram over the coming weeks. See New & Lingwood for more information. This is a paid collaboration with New & Lingwood.
