Equus Leather: British-Made Leather Accessories

I recently had a bespoke watch strap made for me by Charlie Trevor of Equus Leather, a small business based in County Durham (links below). The strap is made of a beautiful textured leather called Cuir de Russie and it has transformed my 1968 Omega Speedmaster Professional which was previously on a rather battered strap. There's nothing like a well-made leather strap to improve the appearance of a watch.

Charlie Trevor also sent me a video of the creation of an attaché case which he has made in the traditional way with the help of other craftsmen. He told me,
"I thought you might enjoy the film we've just released [see below]. Its the creation process of a cedar framed attache case which was what we spent a large part of last Autumn working on. I've always loved them, and they are getting more and more unusual which is a shame. I highly doubt we are going to reverse that trend, but it seemed important to preserve the skills. We're lucky enough to have a rather eminent friend who's one of the last of the old school one-man case makers who is retiring and was keen to pass on some of his methods, so we were able to combine his ways and our ways and come up with something good I hope."
The case itself and some photos are here, where you can order one of these bespoke attaché cases and help to preserve dying crafts skills. Here is the video of the manufacturing process:

This is an unsponsored post. Equus Leather made me the bespoke watch strap for review.
