Traditional hiking boot shapes appeared on the high street a few years ago. As such they make comfortable and practical footwear for the winter without the weight and less flexible nature of the real thing. These Glencoe boots from Barker are suited more for gentle country, dog and street walks than the mountains of Scotland, but their slim shape and less rounded toe is more attractive than the heavy chunkiness of a genuine hiking boot.
