Male style icons: inspiration for the older man

I dislike the term 'male style icons', but can't immediately think of a neater way to describe those men, past and present, who dress impeccably and thereby provide inspiration to those lesser mortals who have to grub around in department stores and sales to meet their sartorial needs. They're lucky, (we say to ourselves), they either work in the fashion world, or are paid well enough to afford bespoke or high-end designer clothes. But it is possible to dress well without breaking the bank (see my post here).

I've chosen a cross-section (mainly aged over forty) to show a variety of ways in which such men manage to dress well. We may not like what we see, but can be inspired by how they select and wear their clothes, their colours, styles, cuts - and the self-confidence they project. If you have other suggestions, please comment at the foot of the post. (I have no information about the image rights; contact me for removal).
