I love discovering brands making products here in the UK. I first heard about Wood & Meadow (link below) a few months ago. Essentially a store selling goods for home and garden, they have a range of workwear made in 'Manchester, England, England - across the Atlantic Sea' (only those of my generation will remember that song from Hair) and they sent me a few to try out.

The Wood & Meadow Work Jacket comes in dark navy or black drill, moss moleskin and navy blue corduroy: good robust cotton cloths originally designed for the working man. I tried the navy drill and corduroy jackets in medium and large. Beautifully made, they are built to classic workwear designs with patch pockets, collars slightly on the large side and shirt cuffs. I'm a slimmish 38" chest and found that while the medium fitted well, I needed a large for additional comfort if I wanted to layer thick knitwear or a down gilet for cold weather wear.

Priced at £185 these represent good value for well-made British products (and some are on sale at the time of writing). See Wood & Meadow for more information and to buy.

The jackets were on loan from Wood & Meadow. This is an unsponsored post, in line with my wish to support small businesses where possible.
