Frahm jackets are designed by Nick Hussey, whom I met a couple of years ago when we had a very pleasant bike ride to discuss his cycle-wear company, Vulpine. Sadly, despite the excellence of the Vulpine products, the business failed, plunging Nick into a nervous breakdown. Once recovered he streamlined his business and designed two simple and practical jackets; the Frahm Harrington Racer and the Frahm Utility Field jacket.

Both are showerproof and wind resistant (a Yorkshire-made fabric). The Racer Harrington is slimmer-fitting and suited to urban life (including cycling), while the Field jacket is a warmer military-inspired workhorse. Both have lots of storage and, knowing how well Vulpine's clothes were designed, I'm sure the Frahm jackets will fill their roles to perfection.

The jackets are made in small batches and are sold in aid of Mind. £10 from each sale goes to the mental health charity. Priced £295 and £395 respectively. Frahm jacket's website frahmjacket.com.
